Historic Village Tank

A 600-year-old irrigation tank with a stone sluice, banyan-lined bund and resident flocks of painted storks and ibis in winter. The bund walk at sunset is the village's favourite evening ritual.

A granite hillock rising 90 m above the fields, reached by a 20-minute stepped trail. From the top: a full sweep of paddy terraces, the tank, and the Erramala hills on the horizon.

Vijayanagara-era Pavilion

A 16-pillared open pavilion beside the Shiva temple, carved with yali brackets and lotus medallions. It hosted the village's first school in 1912 and still shelters harvest-festival gatherings.

Living Market Tradition

Every Tuesday since the 1800s, farmers, weavers, potters and bangle-sellers from twelve surrounding villages fill the fairground. Come for the red-chilli mounds, stay for the jaggery-groundnut chikki.
